How to Apply Roncaid

Dept. R — nighttime goods. One strip, once a night.

The whole thing takes about ten seconds once you have done it twice.

Before you start

Skin should be clean and dry. Lotion, beard oil and night cream all keep the adhesive from gripping, so apply Roncaid before any of them — or skip them under the chin on nights you are taping.

Roncaid is not recommended over under-chin facial hair. The tape needs skin to hold.

The four steps

  1. Set the square edge. Place the square end of the strip where your chin meets your neck — the soft area underneath, not on the jawbone.
  2. Tilt your chin down. Bring your chin toward your chest before you stretch the tape. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that makes the difference.
  3. Pull gently forward. Draw the tape forward along the underside of the chin. Gentle is the word — you are supporting the muscles, not winching the jaw shut.
  4. Press the rounded edge down. Smooth the rounded end onto the front of the chin and press for a few seconds so it takes.

Remove in the morning.

What it should feel like

A light forward lift under the chin, and nothing else. Your mouth stays free to open — nothing is sealed, and you can speak, yawn, cough or drink with the strip on. If it feels tight, pulls at the skin, or makes your jaw ache, take it off and re-apply with less stretch.

If it will not stay on

Important

Roncaid is not a treatment for sleep apnea. If you gasp, choke, or stop breathing during sleep, talk to your doctor before use.

Each pack holds seven pre-cut strips — one full week. The tape is hypoallergenic, latex-free, breathable kinesiology fabric with a skin-safe acrylic adhesive, manufactured to FDA and CE safety standards for topical skin contact.
